Oregon’s EDGE room entering the 2026 season may quietly be one of the most important position groups on the roster. In Dan Lanning and Tosh Lupoi’s defensive structure, outside linebackers sit at the crossroads of everything the system is designed to accomplish. They are the players responsible for establishing physical control at the edge of the formation while simultaneously serving as the primary engines of disruption in the pass rush.
That dual responsibility makes this position far more complicated than simply chasing quarterbacks.
