Fall camp is over, which means we have reached that annual point where some of the things we spent August discussing are about to look pretty smart and some of them are probably going to look incomplete. That is part of the fun of Week 1, because practice can tell us who is pushing for a role, which position groups appear deeper and what a coaching staff believes needs to improve, but it cannot tell us what happens when Boise State is across the line of scrimmage and none of the situations are scripted anymore.
For the first in-season version of Take Two, I want to use the format a little differently. The first take is about what I think mattered most from the final week of camp, while the second is about what this week is about to tell us, both with the team Oregon puts on the field Saturday and some of the players who will be watching it from the sideline.

Oregon finished camp with more answers, but not necessarily fewer possibilities
If there was one thing I took from Oregon’s final week of fall camp, it was that the Ducks did not spend August trying to eliminate options as quickly as possible. They spent the month trying to create enough good ones that the coaches would have real decisions to make when the season arrived.
