There are some weekends in recruiting where you come away feeling like a commitment might be around the corner, and there are others where the bigger story is that Oregon quietly helped itself in a bunch of important ways. This felt like one of those weekends. The Ducks did not just get people on campus. They made progress in a few different kinds of battles, and that is what stood out to me as I worked through everything late Sunday night.
Some of it was about reinforcing the position Oregon already had. Some of it was about getting back into the picture in recruitments that have felt uphill for a while. And some of it was just about creating that early momentum you want before things really start to tighten up heading into official visit season. Not every recruitment is at the same stage, and not every visit means the same thing, but taken together, this was a pretty good few days for the Ducks.
There is still a lot that has to play out here, and in a couple of these recruitments the smart move is still to be patient. But Oregon gave itself more than a little to work with coming out of the weekend, and that is what makes this notebook worth digging into
