Overview

Achilles Reyna is one of the most intriguing projection takes in Oregon’s 2027 class.

That does not mean he is the most polished. It means the physical tools are rare enough to make the evaluation different. Reyna is a 6-foot-7 to 6-foot-8, 250-pound edge prospect who is still new to football after spending most of his athletic life in basketball. He helped Rainier Beach win a 3A state title on the hardwood, then stepped onto the football field and quickly turned one season of experience into major Power Four interest.

That is not normal.

Players do not draw offers from Oregon, LSU, Texas A&M, Utah, Washington State and others after one year of football unless the traits are obvious. With Reyna, they are. The size is unusual. The frame is difficult to replicate. The movement background is real. The developmental runway is long.

This is the kind of player Oregon can take because the Ducks have already built enough talent around him. Reyna does not have to be a finished product today. He has to be a rare athlete with enough early football flashes to justify the bet.

He is that.
