Spring football is often sold as discovery.
Find the breakout player. Find the surprise freshman. Find the transfer who changes a room. Find the buzz.
There is some of that at Oregon, of course. There always is. But after working through these interviews, what stayed with me was something else. This team does not sound like one that is just searching for itself. It sounds like one that already knows, at least in broad terms, what it wants to be and is now trying to become precise enough to actually get there.
That is a different kind of spring.
