As we move through the spring and get closer to the quieter part of the calendar, it becomes easier to focus only on what is directly in front of us. Depth charts. Position battles. The next practice clip that gets released. The next interview that offers just enough to analyze without ever saying too much.
But the more time I have spent working through the Recruiting the Future pieces, the more it feels like those glimpses are only part of the picture.
There is something else taking shape underneath it.
It shows up in patterns more than headlines. In the types of players Oregon continues to pursue, and just as importantly, the traits that seem to matter most once you look past the rankings. It is not about chasing a single class that can carry a season. It is about building something that is sustainable over time.
That is a different kind of recruiting.
