The easy way to look at Dylan Raiola’s arrival at Oregon is through the depth chart.
Dante Moore is the expected starter. Raiola transferred in from Nebraska. He will almost surely spend this season learning, developing and waiting his turn.
All of that is true.
It is also incomplete.
Because what Oregon really brought in is not just a backup quarterback. It brought in a player who has already lived through the hardest part of quarterback development in public. He has already taken game-speed reps. He has already been the young quarterback with expectations attached to his name. He has already seen what works, what does not and how fast the position can humble you.
And now he is in a room where humility is not a punishment. It is part of the plan.
