Across Oregon athletics this week, there has been a pretty clear reminder that there is a difference between early progress and the kind of foundation that can actually hold up. Baseball looks like a program building on substance, with a hot start that feels supported by veteran production and real pitching stability. Women’s basketball, on the other hand, ended with a harsh but useful reminder that being better is not the same thing as being good enough. Both are different versions of the same lesson: shape matters, but staying power matters more.
That is part of why wide receiver recruiting is so interesting right now. The board is beginning to take shape here in mid-March, but there is still plenty of time left in the cycle, and I think April into May is when we will really start to see things move for the elite receivers at the top for Oregon. Once those names begin to come off the board, a lot of the rest of the picture will start to sort itself out. I will have more on that in Wednesday War Room, but I do have a couple of thoughts this morning on some priority targets.
