There is always going to be a certain amount of noise around recruiting, especially in the NIL era. Every commitment, every flip and every late push from another program comes with a round of speculation about money, valuation and whether one school simply wanted a player more than another.
For Oregon, that conversation can sometimes create a distorted picture of how the Ducks are operating.
Oregon is certainly not sitting out the NIL marketplace. The Ducks have the resources, infrastructure and ambition to compete nationally. They have signed elite high school players, added major transfer portal pieces and built a roster that looks very much like one capable of competing at the highest level of college football.
But the foundation of Oregon’s NIL approach is not built around chasing every high school bidding war to the finish line.
