There are a lot of ways to tell the story of a football game. The box score gives you one version, the final score another, but sometimes a photograph catches something neither can quite explain.
That was especially true Saturday at Autzen Stadium, where Oregon’s 34-27 win over Boise State offered plenty for the camera: explosive plays, collisions at the line of scrimmage, receivers going airborne, defenders closing in and a crowd that spent much of the afternoon somewhere between celebration and nervous energy. It was a game that rarely felt as comfortable as some of the numbers suggested, and that tension shows up in the images.
